Architectural Report 8-15-24:
Well, good afternoon. And I'm glad to have a chance to talk a little bit about what we've done, what the architectural committee has accomplished over the last 3 months.
And, you know, when we look at it, you know, we're saying goodbye to a quarter and looking forward to the next quarter. Over the last 3 months, they've been very busy just as the previous quarter was, thinking back to some of the painting jobs that we went through and a little bit of a crisis on those things. There's been 55 requests for changes during the last 3 months that have been processed here, so we're well on the way to, meeting or exceeding the goal for all of last year's reported in the, last annual meeting. As I look at the overall process of what's been going on, I kind of liken it to everybody doing their spring cleaning. There's been basically about 3 different generic, or general areas that these request for changes have been into been covered in.
The biggest one is maintenance. When we look at maintenance, there's things like, more painting. The last time, we had 18, I think, 8 jobs just in March. We have about 10 or 11, just this year or just this month so far. Shingles have been replaced.
Quite a few homes have gotten new shingles, new rain gutters in a couple places, a lot of dead and dying trees being removed. They're kind of a eye source, my sights. It hurt my eyes anyway. Fence repairs, that's been going on. There's been one fence in particular that, was installed back in 1995, and it's been replaced about, you know, the 3rd time.
A wood fence, that's yeah, we had to do a little discussion about that one. That was one that, kind of a, grandmother sort of fence. It exceeded rules, It was strictly replacing what's been there for, what, 15, almost so it's long time. Payers have been replaced concrete on driveways and patios. That's something else that's been going on neighbor's place.
Landscaping, lots of new artificial, grass turf, some tree trimming that's been done, and everything is beginning to look much better. Safety would be a third general area that's been addressed. Specifically, and handrails being ahead of steps. The cluster changes certainly shows the pride that our homeowners in the community, what they how the pride that they have in their own community and upgrading their own properties. And we thank each and every one of you for the efforts you made there.
Looking forward to the next quarter, we ask that each of you walk out to the curb in front of your house. I think I've said that before in a meeting. Take a critical look at your property, front yard, backyard both, and ask yourself, what can I do to improve the appearance of my home? When you come up with a few topics, please feel free to call one of us or drop in on our Wednesday meetings. We meet every Wednesday in the architectural office next to the laundromat, except on the 3rd Wednesday month of the month when we have an open meeting.
We welcome you to any of those times. Wednesday meetings have been pretty good. But don't try to get the number of people coming to just drop in, because we don't have much room. So call one of us and ask for our assistance and help. We'd be more than glad to advise you techniques that we see other people use.
We've got people on the committee that have good not good manufacturing. That goes back to my old career, that has good construction skills and knowledge. And we're in a position to at least give you some guidance and ideas about what you're thinking of and what's cooking. We expect the next quarter to be as busy as this one has been, and we hope to have maybe 2 more members added to the architectural committee group to help keep up with some of the work that's been going on. And I guess finally, if you think you could bring value to our community, to tell you about.
Specifically, your social media members do guide you in a way to avoid, doing things that are not allowed in the CCR or the rules. So please ask if you have any doubts about what you're doing. And if you want some help and advice that we have to offer, I guess that's pretty much all I have to say.
